tony-pigottThis month, Tony Pigott, former CEO of JWT Canada, will retire as the Global CEO of JWT Ethos and non-executive Chairman of JWT Canada. After 34 stellar years with JWT, Tony is now going to focus on his social enterprise venture, the Brandaid Project. We are sad to see him go, but wish him the best of luck on his exciting new journey.

Tony has made immense contributions to this agency. Under his leadership, JWT Canada tripled in size and created business-building campaigns for some of the country’s most beloved and iconic brands and institutions, such as Tim Hortons, SickKids, Kit Kat, Tylenol and Walmart Canada. Tony also launched and was instrumental in developing JWT Ethos, the agency’s social change and corporate responsibility practice, and has served as its Global CEO since mid-2012. JWT Ethos has worked on major projects with leading not-for-profit organizations and institutions including SickKids, University of Toronto, UNESCO, ParticipACTION, the Vancouver Olympics and Baycrest Hospital.

“We are thankful for Tony’s leadership in JWT Canada. He has spearheaded the growth of the agency, forging relationships with key clients, and has helped to bring in the next generation of leadership. He has also been a pioneering voice and advocate for how brands can drive social change. We have nothing but gratitude for Tony and his contributions to the network and industry, and are delighted to see him enter an exciting and meaningful new chapter of his career,” says Bob Jeffrey, JWT Worldwide Chairman and CEO.

The Brandaid Project, which Tony will join this month, applies the power of marketing, design and technology to the artisan sector in poor and challenged areas of the world. His priority will now be to continue to develop the organization’s mission of microeconomic development and ensure its ongoing success.”

He is succeeded by Susan Kim-Kirkland, who was promoted to CEO last year.

Thanks to Tony for his years of hard work.
